Rimere Receives $10 Million Strategic Investment From Clean Energy

Clean Energy Fuels Corp. (NASDAQ: CLNE) has made a sizable $10 million strategic investment in Rimere, a trailblazing climate solutions company, with the goal of expediting the development and field testing of their cutting-edge plasma technology. With this support, Rimere will be able to advance its two main products—the Reformer and the Mitigator—which are essential for lowering greenhouse gas emissions and speeding up the switch to clean hydrogen.

The Reformer is a ground-breaking method of converting natural gas into pure hydrogen and premium graphene while totally avoiding the production of CO2 emissions. It is driven by patented sequential hybrid plasma technology. Its capacity to produce hydrogen with a negative carbon-intensity rating using renewable natural gas (RNG) as feedstock is very remarkable. This puts Rimere's hydrogen in a position where its emissions are far lower than those of even renewable electrolysis techniques, opening up a very promising path for the production of sustainable energy.

The Mitigator is a plasma thermal oxidizer that works in tandem with the Reformer to mitigate the greenhouse gas potency of fugitive methane emissions. The Mitigator is an essential tool in lowering the environmental effect of natural gas operations because it provides an affordable way to mitigate methane emissions that escape from natural gas infrastructure, such as compressors and pneumatic controllers along pipelines.

The CEO of Rimere, Mitchell Pratt, emphasizes the importance of these technologies in addressing the problems associated with natural gas infrastructure and simultaneously making a positive impact toward a cleaner energy future. He draws attention to the revolutionary potential of Rimere's technology in revaluing natural gas reserves by generating valuable graphene and zero-emission hydrogen, supporting international efforts to tackle climate change.

As part of Clean Energy's continued commitment to tackling environmental concerns, Andrew J. Littlefair, president and CEO of Clean Energy, highlights the strategic significance of investing in Rimere. In his view, Rimere's ideas represent a sensible next step in Clean Energy's objective of offering reasonably priced, emission-free substitutes for natural gas and hydrogen.

Using high voltage arcs in an induced electromagnetic field to break down methane at the molecular level, Rimere's patented and patent-pending technologies constitute a state-of-the-art method of reducing emissions. By utilizing these technologies, Rimere hopes to drastically alter the long-term picture for natural gas and turn it into a more sustainable and clean source for providing end users with hydrogen and graphene.

By partnering with Clean Energy, Rimere is able to continue its goal of using technology innovation to achieve good environmental effect while solidifying its position as a major player in the climate solutions market. Since its founding in 2020, Rimere, an equity method investee of Clean Energy, has already received a substantial amount of money, demonstrating growing investor confidence in its capacity to bring about transformation.

Overall, Rimere's collaboration with Clean Energy marks an important turning point in the transition to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future. Their cutting-edge plasma technology has the potential to completely transform the natural gas and hydrogen sectors and significantly advance the fight against climate change.
