Wirex Announced A Partnership With Gateway.fm To Scale Its ZK-powered WPay Network

 


Wirex, a popular Web3 money app, has announced a strategic partnership with Gateway.fm, a global decentralized blockchain infrastructure node provider. The alliance intends to improve the scalability and efficiency of Wirex's WPay Decentralized Payment Network, which was recently established. Wirex plans to scale its Zero-Knowledge (ZK)-powered WPay platform by leveraging Gateway.fm's PaaS, Presto.


Wirex's collaboration aims to improve the network's transaction throughput, relieve congestion on the Ethereum mainnet, and give consumers with a smoother transition between traditional finance and Web3. This shift is critical to make decentralized payments more simple and efficient.



The cooperation reinforces WPay's primary value propositions, such as self-custody, digital asset flexibility, uncompromised security, and fast spending. WPay empowers customers by providing complete control over their assets, easy management of digital assets, strict security standards, and the possibility to use bitcoin for everyday transactions.


Gateway.fm will provide Wirex with a private zkEVM (Zero-Knowledge Ethereum Virtual Machine) rollup solution to improve scalability, cost effectiveness, and off-chain transaction processing. Furthermore, the inclusion of L2 (Layer 2) technology, provided by Gateway.fm's Presto powered by Polygon CDK, is a key step toward upgrading Wirex card services.
